There are many video game legends out there, but few of them can be called "video game legends." The names on this list are obvious - Mario, Zelda, and Pac-Man, to name a few. Others, like Billiard and pool legends, may not always be recognized by the gaming public, but everyone knows who they are. The question is - how did these video game legends become so well known?
Most video game legends started their careers outside the gaming industry. Many of today's top names in the industry started in other fields. As technology advanced, these developers began to develop new games that would run on primitive platforms before transferring their knowledge over to a new platform. Many game platforms were just as advanced as the ones they used to create their earlier games, but programmers had to learn the basics of the new systems to build their skills and get used to using them.
While many video game legends have become household names, some have created a buzz within the gaming community and have become true icons in their own right. Donkey Kong, Space Invaders, and Pac-Man are examples of the type of game legends that created a sense of awe and curiosity among game lovers. Video game platforms such as Nintendo, Xbox, and Sony PlayStation have had to face stiff competition from larger rivals Nintendo and Xbox. As the gaming industry continues to evolve, it is clear that video game legends will always rise to the challenge.
